As power demand climbs and turbine upgrades continue to expand, combined cycle and cogeneration facilities are under pressure to hold output and heat rate at their best. Most plants clean their backend HRSG fin tube bundles on schedule and still don’t recover the performance they expect — not because the work was done poorly, but because conventional methods reach the face of the bundle and stop there. Embedded deposits several rows deep survive the outage, and the efficiency penalty carries into the next run.
This session examines what deep fouling actually costs, why the industry has largely accepted surface cleaning as sufficient, and what it takes to reach the deposits that matter.
